Shorten your sleeves
Are your sleeves too long? There’s a quicker fix than going to a tailor and all you need is chalk, thread, scissors, measuring tape, and a sewing machine.
1. Measure your desired length. Keep in mind that the new hem will be folded over and a bit shorter, therefore you need to add some centimeters to the length.
2. Draw a straight line using the chalk over the area you want to cut to ensure an even cut.
3. Place the item on a flat surface and cut the sleeve off horizontally along the line you drew.
4. Set the sewing machine on the zigzag stitch option. Adjust the setting based on the thickness of the fabric. Keep in mind the thicker the fabric, the higher the number should be.
5. Fold the sleeve inwards then place one side of the sleeves on the sewing machine and sew around it in one direction to neaten it up, making sure not to sew the sleeves together here.
6. Cut off the remaining thread.
